Why have your own social platform? Well, firstly you don’t have to. About 10% of our customers choose not to use the feature as they prefer to focus on e-commerce or ticketing relationships, however most of our clients welcome the ability to own their own social community that they can gain insight from.
Why having your own social platform is important
The main social platforms are hugely useful as a funnel to drive awareness and new members. But once they are part of your community why leave them to generate useful, exciting and monetisable content on other people’s platform? Not only is it valuable from a data and revenue perspective, it is also a sticky reason for your audience to come back and share their comments, ideas and opinions.
They are your subscribers so you should own the conversation.
You can choose how much engagement you allow and how it is moderated. A completely open platform for forums, group followers and 1-2-1 chat? No problem. Enable people to make friends, follow groups or teams, feedback in open discussion. It’s all possible. However, if you want to moderate, manage or restrict social access to in-house personnel or for a selcect number of channels then you can do this also.
Another advantage of owning your own data (and you own it not us!) is that we can apply our early stage AI to extract insight from the conversations and use it to develop new products, features or services for your communtiy that they actually want.
